We're going to be flying for the first time with DD next month - just wondering if anyone has suggestions on some good travel toys for the plane? I want to have as much ammo as possible in case of a mid-flight meltdown!
Just flew with C last week. He loves dogs and cats. So I went to the dollar store and got some stickers with dogs and cats on them. He loved peeling them off the page and sticking them on me/himself/the plane. They definitely kept him occupied for the longest time. I also brought a couple books with the noise making buttons. I brought a ton of other stuff too, however the sticker/books plus a whole ton of snacks were the best at keeping him busy.
We were loaded up with little trinkets, books, and even our iPad with movies, games, etc. She still ended up throwing a fit, and low and behold, the thing that kept her busy for the rest of the flight......... A plastic cup (courtesy of the flight attendant).
Lift the flap books, stickers, electronic devices, lots of snacks and drinks. At Christmas, LO slept for 3 of our 4 flights. The first flight made me wonder if we should drive home instead of fly-it was that bad. Once we figured out the most comfortable way for her to sleep on our laps, it was smooth sailing.
We just flew with DS on a 3 1/2 hour flight. We brought a VTec reader that was new to him, and an Elmo cartridge to put in it. Also one of those drawing tablets with the "pen" attached, also new to him. A couple of his favorite books and his blanky. He did better than expected!! (And he was a lap sitter which I would personally not do again...)
