Joke was on me last night....

I REALLY thought that b/c last time I had those excruciating leg cramps in the middle of the night much earlier with DS 1, that I wasn't going to get them this pregnancy. WRONG!! O.M.G I forgot how painful they are. I woke up screaming and scared poor DH to death. I had even said to DH a few weeks ago how happy I was to escape that pregnancy joy. Body = 1 Me = 0.

  • I haven't had as many this time around (knock on wood), but goodness, I'll take morning sickness over those I think. We were laughing at our Bradley class this week that it makes you scared to point your toes ever. Our teacher joked that it took her 2 years after her last child to voluntarily point her toes for fear of a cramp.

Eat bananas! And when you stretch out your leg, pull your foot in towards yourself instead of pointing your toes out.

Yep,  I've been focusing really hard on this and it is working.  But sometimes, one still catches me off guard when I'm playing with DD or moving around in bed.

  • I eat bananas on my cereal EVERY morning for this reason :)  So far (knock on wood) i have been ok except for a couple random times.

  • I was getting bad ones every night, several times a night and my OB told me to take a calcium pill or chew before bed and it's seriously helped with them.  Now the only time I have them is when I forget to take it.

  • They are killer.  I feel bad for my DH when I wake him up with one too, but I can't help but yell out for help sometimes.  lol  He knows even half asleep and will just grab my foot and stretch it for me.

  • This has happened to me twice so far. DH was only home for one of the nights, but I scared the crap out of him. I sat straight up in bed, gasping and couldn't even catch my breath! I couldn't figure out wth to do to get them to relax. My calves felt like they had a big knot in them for like 4 days! I try to eat a banana most days but I keep getting sick of them.
