wow thats so sad. if BM died I know DH would fight for full custody, her mom would probably fight us on it, I can only imagine the things that she would come up with and say that DH did/said.
I truly feel for these grandparents, but its only one side of the story. the judge is an a-hole for not listening to all the evidence though
Honestly, the whole thing makes me sick to my stomach. As much as I don't get along with EH, I can't imagine doing something like that to my kids or their other family.
BM could have said the exact same thing about DH. He HAD to move, being military and all. His ability to just fly Across an ocean (sorry, but a couple flights for California to Hawaii, plus hotel and car costs is NOT something most people can just do.) to see SS is not as easy as having SS come to see him.
I am not saying that this BF isn't a douch for not trying to do more to communicate with his daughter. But seriously...the baby is 4, they are what 3-4 time zones different so phone calls and sky may not be the easiest to work...
I don't know, I am not jumping onto any side with just this one article,
I believe the daughter deserves to be with the biological parent as long as there is no history of abuse or drugs or other similar crimes.
However, I find it appauling that a parent who truly loves their child would not allow that child a transition period and visitation of the only family she's known for 4 years. This in itself says a lot about what kind of man they are dealing with. So sad. Broken homes can create so much brokenness and pain for all involved.

I would need to hear the fathers side of the story to have an opinion on this.
However, it is sad 'if' the father is not willing to work with the grandparents for the benefit of his DD.
