We stopped swaddling DD about a month ago...and I can't even really remember why lol. She is still sleeping in her RNP and I'd like to transition her to her crib soon. She sleeps in a sleep sack and we get 45 minute-hour long naps in the day and a 4-5 hour stretch at night followed by 2 3 hour stretches.
Some of the moms in my playgroup recommended that I go back to the swaddle for the transition to the crib. Anyone here still swaddling? If so, how long do you plan to swaddle? DD isn't rolling over yet so I think we still have some time before going back to the sleep sack.
I'm curious to know if the swaddle is working for y'all-DD is constantly hitting herself in the face, rubbing her eyes, putting her hands in her mouth, etc, so maybe she wasn't ready to sleep without the swaddle yet!
Thanks for any input!
Re: Swaddle vs. Sleep Sack
We never swaddled, even in the hospital. After she was born she kept dropping her temp every time she was swaddled so I'd unwrap her and do skin to skin. At 30 hours old she was rushed to the NICU to be put under the bili lights, where she stayed for the next 9 days. She spent so much time in nothing but her diaper that when she finally could wear clothes she'd scream every time I dressed her and swaddling was pretty much a mute point by then.
At night she sleeps in a sleep sack or gown with a blanket pulled up to her arm pits.
