I've noticed that our every other day loads are pretty full loads with just DS's diapers (especially at DC where they change 4-5 in an 8 hour period). I'm planning to CD baby #2 as well, and I'm wondering if I'm going to really have to wash every day for two in CD's??
What is the optimum number of diapers (generally...I know this isn't the same for every washer/water type/detergent/etc) for a load? We have a HE front loader, so larger loads of regular laundry are okay, but I'm wondering if two days' worth of two kids in diapers is going to be way too much to get them clean.
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance
Re: 2u2, can you really wash every other day?
Yeah, I'll probably add to my stash enough that we won't run out of diapers for two nights. I was just worried about the size of the laundry load. I'm probably over thinking it...like I did with all things CD's before LO#1 came along.
Anyway, thanks
A lot of this depends on the kind of diaper you use. For instance, you will get a full load faster with pockets than with an AI2 system.
We use a 9 gallon pail at home. When it's full, that's a load. Honestly, I have no idea how many diapers that is because we use a huge variety of diaper types every day. On average we are washing every 3 days now, so it seems like it will be possible after the inital poop.everythirtyseonds.newbornphase is over.
There has been a big drop in how often DD2 needs to be changed in the last 2 months or so.
