I'm a member of a kids clothing message board and we are trying to help a mom. This is the message that was posted:
" On Friday a 15 month old little girl died.
Her older brother went to preschool with my Emilie. Anyway, the little
girl was wearing an Okie Dokie onesie that was pink with a butterfly on
it. The hospital accidentally threw it away. The mother is desperate
to find another. Friends have been looking online everywhere,
Craigslist, amazon, eBay, jcpenney, but no luck. I thought maybe
someone in this group might have it & be willing to part with it.
Thank you!"
The shirt is pink and has a white outline of a butterfly embroidered on the front. The outline is filled with lots of different colored tiny butterflies. I'm posting it here because it looks like JC Penney sold the shirt 3-4 years ago. I'm hoping someone can help.
Re: Does anyone have this shirt? **sensitive**
OH my goodess---I wish I had a shirt to give that family. May I ask? How did she die??
Please update us and let us know if you guys find that shirt--it sure would be a "feel good".

Notes:
I'm actually not sure how she passed away. The plea was made by the moderator of the message board on behalf of a friend of the family. I think they are keeping the details private.
Here is a picture of the shirt:
I will make sure to keep you updated.
Can I play devils advocate? And yes I'm expected to get blasted.....my heart goes out to the family if its real. I really really don't want to be snarky but I am all of a sudden seeing this EVERYWHERE on FB and on forums....but no one can say where the family is from, or go into any details or any kind....so if someone finds the shirt, what do you do with it and how do you know where to send it?
Again my thoughts are with the family and I hope its real considering there are a lot of good hearted people working hard to find this shirt!
I usually think the same thing when see these things on Facebook. This story actually did not start on Facebook. I know where it was started and I know the moderator of the board (which is a very well known board) has the information about the family and how to get the shirt to them.
If anyone does find the shirt from a post I put out I will take care of getting the shirt from them.
It stinks that so many of these stories are false and have been circulated so much then when there really is a need they get passed over. I understand why people would second guess this but I'm hoping the right person will see it.
I don't understand this, the mom wants a duplicate of the shirt her LO was wearing when she passed away? That's what will bring her peace?
I don't get this at all.
That's sweet. Except you're saying they are looking for a shirt she never wore? From anyone, anywhere that looks like it?
Thank you so much to everyone who helped search for this shirt. I'm glad to say that the shirt has been found and it's on the way to the family. Though it will never replace the shirt that she was wearing it meant a lot to her family that it be found. The shirt said "Fly Away Little Butterfly"
Baby Josalyn passed away in her sleep. Her mother posted a message thanking everyone for their help in finding this shirt and said she would post a picture of the quilt when it is finished.
She also posted this video of her beautiful little girl:
Who knows what will bring a grieving mother a little peace. If having a quilt made out of an article of clothing that reminds her of the Fly Away Little Butterfly saying, then so be it.
No freaking kidding. Well said RoxBride. Maybe that's just a very important piece to her. Who are we to judge that?
