Recommend your detergent for hard water

Ok, down to just enough for another load or two so I really need to order more.

I've been using bumGenius.  We moved and now have hard well water and I think the detergent is not a good match as I'm having stink problems a lot.

I've tried borax because I couldn't find any calgon in store and it's not helping.  So now I'm going to order the calgon too.

So, what detergent do you use if you have hard water?

  • When I realized the EFF wasn't working so well, I went right to Tide (to line 2). I just didn't have the time, money or patience to experiment.

  • We have very hard water. Bum Genius causes major stink issues. I use Tide powder. I wash about 12-14 diapers every other day and I fill to Just under the number 1. Not the line but the number itself.

  • We have hard water and I use Tide powder.  I've only prepped my diapers so I don't know about it long term, but it seemed to be very highly recommended.

  • Tide powder with a rockin green soak once a month.  I used rockin green hard rock before that and it wasn't "strong" enough and didn't get the diapers clean enough.  I like rockin green for soaks, but not for everyday washing.
