So right now we have a ridulous number of diapers because DD is still wearing her yellow PFs and fits into her OS as well. As a result - I can easily go 3-4 days between washings. But I realize that this is not great for the diapers - staining, stink, etc. Can I "cheat" and throw 1-2 days worth of diapers into the machine on soak and leave them there until the third day? It won't hurt the diapers in any way - right?

Re: Can I "cheat" on the laundry?
I have heard, and I don't know how accurate this is, that soaking PUL for long amounts of time may cause it to wear more quickly.
That being said, I prefer to wash every other day, even though I have plenty to go longer. I feel like putting clothes through the wash is the simple part of laundry, it is the folding and putting away that sucks. I would rather put away smaller loads than be stuck with a huge one.
You can soak your PFs no problem, but you shouldn't soak items with PUL for that long on a regular basis. It will cause excessive wear and tear and they will likely delaminate sooner.
We wash whenever we get a full load. Sometimes thats in 1.5 days sometimes that in 3.5 days. We don't have any problems. It is really a combination of the size of the load and your washing machine that dictate how many days you can go.
We sometimes do every other day, sometimes every 3 days. I just plop them in the pail and wash as normal. I've never had any stink issues, and very little staining issues (which I've been able to get all out in the sun)
