So, we've been waiting for DDs cord stump to fall off before we start with our CDs...also helps with my sleep deprived sanity. But, that should be happening soon, and I may just start her this weekend when both DH and I are home all day. Right now, all of her dipes are stacked in her changing table and I have a trash can that has a pail liner in it...all in her nursery, which is upstairs. However, we're downstairs most of the day and I don't see us traveling up and down stairs to change all the time.
With sposies, I have a bucket with all my supplies that's next to the couch. I can do the same with her prefolds and an extra cover, but I'm trying to figure out the wetbag situation. I obviously wasn't thinking really clearly about things when I got my stuff. I only have 2 pail liners and 1 wetbag right now. Do I get some other wetbag or liner to keep downstairs?
What do you do as far as changing in different areas of the house?
Re: Setting up a changing station
My family is a Foreign Service family. Families like mine are posted in every corner of the globe. We live our lives away from family, friends and the conviences and comforts of home. We often live and work in dangerous places among those that misunderstand our intentions and purposes. Sometimes members of our ranks sacrifice our lives to further diplomacy. Please remember that we serve too. And I'm always open to questions.
I have 2 itso cubes from target. I keep them downstairs on the floor under the piano- I don't have any diapers upstairs.
My cubes are split in half. One has 2 large drawer bins, for diapers. I stuff the pockets as soon as they come out of the dryer, so those 2 drawers are grab n go. Then the other one, I have a large bin for extra inserts, disp. inserts, and diaper shells. Then on the second shelf of that bin, I have 2 small bins - one for diaper cream, lotions, liners, and snappis. The other small bin is for cloth wipes. On top of that cube, I keep my disposable wipes, and a bowl of water/wipe solution for the day.
I don't have a pail, I have a large FB hanging wet bag. It hangs on my basement door, right around the corner from my diaper supplies. When the bag gets full, it's right down the steps and in to the washer.
Here's the link to the itso, there are similar systems around. I use the black cubes with the ebony polka dot bins in small and medium.
