This may be horribly obvious, but I just wanted to make sure I understand correctly.
Am I right in my assumption that both a pocket and an AIO are only used once before going in the wet bag? I am under the impression that the advantage to a pocket is adding extra inserts for absorbancy - is that the case?
My fiance is surprisingly interested in the whole CD process and comes up with some questions I can't always answer, bless him.
Re: Pocket vs AIO question
Yes, you are correct.
Pros to the pocket diaper are customizability for absorbency and drying time compared to the AIO.
You are correct - both are used once. The only thing that can be used multiple times, without washing, is a diaper cover unless it gets soiled. I put my covers into the pail to get washed at the end of the day so any urine residue isn't lingering.
Pockets can have added absorbency, although some AIOs have a pocket too. One other pro, pockets will dry quicker. That being said, some people find the stuffing tedious and prefer AIOs. AIO vs Pocket is personal preference. I have some of both in my stash.
Same as above - my AIOs (Thirsties Duo AIOs) have a gap between the soaker and shell to stuff extra in.
For ease, I prefer AIOs. However, lately I'm having MF stink issues, and have come to really prefer my pockets. Not only can I use natural more often than synthetic inserts, but since they come apart, they are so much easier to rinse. I'm finding the stink comes back faster on AIOs.
Thanks, I will definitely check out your blog! And yeah, it's nice he is excited....the other night he pulled up a picture online and told me, "You should get this one, it's cool." Hahaha. I did, of course, since he requested it.
And thanks to everyone else as well!
