Hi,
I haven't posted on The Bump in a long time but am a continual lurker. If no one responds to this post, I will totally understand. I just know people here will give honest opinions and I am currently in limbo.
My 3rd injects cycle (2nd IUI) was in early April. I typically have done Gonal. This cycle I did Bravelle and my progestrone after IUI was less than 10 so I was put on progestrone.
I had a BFP on 11dpIUI in the evening on an internet cheapie and Clearblue (not digital). Had my beta drawn the morning of 12 dpIUI and it was 9.5. Nurse said anything over 5 was a pregnancy but with my son the same time, my beta was in the 30's.
Of course I have been obsessively testing since then and I still have yet to see a positive on the digital. This morning, one of my tests looked lighter than the night before.
I am getting my beta retested tomorrow. I know I won't know for sure until my beta, but has anyone had this type of experience? With my son, the lines kept getting every day and I'm just wondering if this will be a chemical pregnancy. Especially since my progestrone didn't show a very strong ovulation.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Re: Possible chemical pregnancy?
I think it is possible, but you can't know for sure until the 2nd beta comes back. It could just be too early to test, or it's also possible that implantation happened late.
I had a chemical pregnancy 2 years ago. My first beta 14 dpIUI was around 20 and I had a faint positive on a FRER & a digital. I continued to take tests all weekend and noticed the lines weren't getting darker. The 2nd beta (17 dpIUI) came in at 16, so we knew it was over.
I will keep my fingers crossed that you. Good luck!

I just went through a chemical in December. My first beta was 25, that was the day I started bleeding. I had been testing postive all week. My lines never got darker and never a digital positive.
My next beta went up to 177 or something like that. Then slowly it went down for 7 weeks.
I am going to be honest and say it sounds like my testing
However, I am going to hold out hope for you

DD's first beta was 17. that was at 6dp5dt. Not too far off from yours.
It just kept growing from there.
I don't think you can judge a chemical by the darkness or lightness of lines. I just had a chemical after a negative, then positive test (two dark lines) but my beta #s is what told us chemical. Sorry you are in such limbo but beta numbers are really the only way to know.
Good luck!!
