Waste of money. We bought one and used it 2 or 3 times before realizing how much of a PITA it is. Now it just sits in the trunk. Exposure to germs is good, just put LO in the cart and go (or maybe wipe down the handle first since that always ends up in their mouths).
I have both and love both. I saw another poster said hers is a PITA. Maybe it depends on the one you get. I use mine a lot so I am a pro at doing it with only one hand, LOL. I agree with her that germs are good, and I do wipe down the cart, but especially when it comes to the high chair cover, I have seen some seriously unappetizing seats in otherwise clean restaurants. I don't always feel like scrubbing someone else's chair when I can quickly throw down my cover and toss it in the wash at home. Since you're getting divided opinions, maybe get one but don't spend a lot on it in case you're like the other poster and don't care for it.
I love my cart cover and use it all the time. However, I wouldn't recommend spending a lot on one. After all, who knows if you'll actually use it? Also, I would suggest you get one without an elastic at the bottom. You'll need to set it up one-handed.

Agreed. Most stores here have cart wipes at the door, and if they don't I have wipes in my purse, I just wipe down the handle. I see these for sale all the time on sites like Craigslist in our area, and almost never see them being used.
I love ours, not for germs but for her comfort. She will sit through a whole meal or a good long shopping trip sitting in our cover, but get squirmy and want to be held pretty quickly without. I paid like $10 for mine though, I wouldn't spend $65 on one!

My issue is not with the cart cover itself. My issue is that I cannot hold DD, the diaper bag, my coupon binder, AND put on a cart cover at the same time. Our grocery store is anal about leaving carts in the parking lot so I almost always have to go inside to get one. If I'm with DH and have extra hands then yes, sometimes I will use it, but most of the time it stays in the car.
They're useful, but don't spend a lot of money on it.
We got one for less than $20 brand new (at BRU, used a coopin). I started using it around 6 or 7 months when DS could sit up reasonably well in the cart but by 10 months, he would just rip it off.
We got a great deal on one on babyhalf.com. We used it only a handful of times. After they turned 1, I wasn't so paranoid with them touching the actual shopping cart, but was anal about disinfecting them once I got them out!

We have a cart cover; sometimes we use it, sometimes not. I like that it's easy to hook toys onto to keep her occupied, but it is a PITA to put on. Plus the shopping carts and high chairs at the places we go to always seem particularly nasty...
I would definitely not spend $70 on one though! That's ridic.

I have one similar to this:

Thanks, ladies!

They are all the same. Don't spend a ton of money. Even get one used from CL. Just wash it (which you should do weekly anyway).
We used ours nonstop for the first year. Now I use it sometimes. But the first year, i was a stickler about it.
Ooh, I totally forgot about craigslist-- great suggestion! Thanks! I just checked, and they ARE $10 there. Awesome!
