Just a vent...

So tomorrow I have to take my LO to see my dreaded ex after 2 1/2 months. My lawyer thinks it will be good for me to take her to see him because it may have him agree to my parenting plan. I really don't know if him seeing her will make him agree but... The thought of seeing him makes my skin crawl and I hate to see my LO upset and scared because he is a stranger to her. Although, it makes me smile inside that she doesn't care for him lol. I honestly can't see how him coming in and out of her life every 2-4 months is "in the best interest of the child". Every time she sees him, it's a new introduction. I honestly think it's worse on her. Please wish me well tomorrow and the hour he sees her flies by. I'm bringing my dad along to "buffer" the visit time. I doubt we'll even be there for an hour, I'll have to hold her the whole time and she won't acknowledge him anyway. Good thing!

Re: Just a vent...

  • I know it sucks to have an ex who rarely sees their child - mine does this all the time. I just relate it to how often my girls see their great-grandmother, or some of their other extended family. Sure, we see each other on Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas - and my girls are wary of them for the first few minutes. But they soon warm up. It's just the hard feelings we have towards our ex that make us think it wouldn't be in the best interest of the child.
