What would you have done?

I ordered 3 CDs and a bamboo insert from Cotton Babies. I received them last week and this week I got another identical package. My card was only charged once for $53. Would you have kept them?

I really wanted them, but my conscience was working overtime and I e-mailed customer service and offered to return them. I won't pay for shipping though. I was hoping they'd offer to let me have them. So far they asked if both packages had the same order #. Maybe I should have just kept them. I love the prints I got. I'd offer to pay for them, but I know I would have picked different prints if I bought more CDs to have a variety.

I would WANT to keep them so badly but like you my conscience would have me call/email them and return them. I also wouldn't pay for shipping.

I'd have done what you did. It sucks, and I'd want to keep them, but little things like that can add up and really hurt a small business. For the sake of keeping them around and supporting a business I love, I'd have called and let them know. (I also wouldnt pay for return shipping though!)

I would have done the same thing you did. I agree with others though that I would have really wanted to keep them.

You did the right thing! Even though it is there 'mistake' it was a nice thing to contact them and let them know you got too packages. They are probably trying to figure out if this has happened a lot with recent shipments. If they can discern that this was a blip in their shipping (and that they didn't duplicate all shipments the day yours was sent) they'll probably let you keep them.

Weird!!!!!!!!! Something kind of similar happened to me. I placed an order for some things and got them no problem. About a week later, Cottonbabies sent me some fleece liners I have no recollection of ordering. Well, they have been sitting on my desk at work, not used. Honestly, I just figured they charged me or I accidentally ordered them. I really just didn't think they were expensive enough to waste my time researching or to send them back. So I just kept them. Now I'm wondering if I was charged and if I should have contacted them. Hmm

Thanks, ladies! Sometimes it stinks to have a conscience. I only have 7 CDs and this would have made it 10, but I'd rather have permission to keep them rather than take advantage. Sounds like Cotton Babies has a bug in their system. I order from Amazon a LOT and it's never happened. Once they left out a bottle of Bio Oil, but they shipped it overnight once I told them.

Now, I would have done what you did. Back when I was in college and didn't have principles, I once got an extra set of DVDs that I didn't order in a shipment from Amazon. There were my two DVDS, then 4 more that I didn't order and didn't get charged for. I kept them and gave some to DH (BF at the time). Embarrassed
