I just left the doctor and my blood pressure was 157/88. I feel like that is high especially compared to my previous readings. My doctor didn't seem to concerned with it and wants me back in two weeks like normal. Should I be worried though?
I have been monitored for my blood pressure this pregnancy as well as with DS. I will say that the top number is bit high. Docs usually want you around 120/70. However, that bottom number is not so bad. If it was in the high 90's and 100's, I would be concerned. Drink more water today and try to relax. Stay away from food high in sodium and test your bp later today. If it is higher later, then I would press the issue with your OB. Good luck.
140/90 is the cut off my doc always told me. When mine was close to that, I had to monitor daily at home. I wouldn't freak out, but that would concern me if it stayed around that level.

Like a PP said, 140/90 is considered high. My BP was 147/88 yesterday but I have chronic hypertension so its always a little higher. It could be that you were just anxious or something. My OB has said the diastolic reading being high is more of a concern than the systolic reading...check it at home right when you get up and see what you get. If its normal, I wouldn't concern yourself much...
I had pre-eclampsia with my DD and when it went up they put me on bed rest. I don't remember what the number was. But I would drink a lot of water, stay away from sodium, & relax as much as possible & see what happens! good luck!
