Amnio today & found out sex!

I had an amnio today to test our baby for Fragile X b/c I am a carrier of the Fragile X premutation. We will find out the results in 3-4 weeks. The amnio went well, but I am pretty crampy right now. Waiting for the results is going to be the hardest part.

We also found out we are having a girl! So crazy b/c I am just so used to having a boy - it's going to take some getting used to!

Finding out we are having a girl is a relief though b/c it means that the chances of the baby having Fragile X go down considerably.

I also had to get a Rhogam shot today since I am Rh negative. So I got a shot in my belly, blood drawn from one arm & a shot in the other! I am wiped!!

I hadn't thought about it being Rhogam time already...wow! It's sure going fast this time around.

I had to get the Rhogam shot b/c of the chance of spotting from the amnio. I had it already when I was spotting at 7 weeks & my OB said I should still be covered from that shot, but the doctor at the hospital today said they couldn't take any chances, so I had to get it again. wahhh. Then I'll get it again closer to delivery. The shot itself isn't that bad - it's just the back & forth with getting the blood test, waiting for results & then taking the Rhogam to the doctor to administer it that's a pain!
