goody bag idea

My dd is turning 2 soon and I was looking for some inexpensive and cute ideas for stuff to put in goody bags for the 5 kids coming to her party. Suggestions?TIA-trying to avoid all the "junk" that every mom dreads their kid receving in a goody bag! :-)

  • Coloring books and crayons.
  • Loading the player...
  • Stickers, mini play doh cans, homemade shaped crayons, bubbles.

For DS's bday I made a CD for each of the kids with little sing along songs - that went over really well.

  • Fancy sippy cups

If it's an outdoor party maybe a bucket, shovel, and other outdoor toys

  • We take a photo of the birthday kid(s) with each party guest and print during the party.  We then put it in one of those frames you can paint yourself with a strip of acrylic paints to paint it.  I put it in a plain canvas bag that the kids decorate with markers and stickers.  Last year DD#1 wrote her friend's names on the bags- turned out cute.  Lame that we do it every year, I guess, my kids use those bags for library, toting their toys- but I like they have to participate in preparing this thank you for coming gift...

  • I included those big punching balloons. You can buy a pack of them at Target for a couple bucks. They were a huge hit.
