I see a ton of people who did but I didn't for a few reasons 1) my mom bought it for us before my shower 2) I'm pretty sure my mom would've bought it anyways (which she did lol) 3) I bought it from a store that didn't have registries. If I wanted one from where I was registered I probably would have so I could get the registry completion discount. Just cause its on there doesn't mean you're expecting someone to buy it for you!
We did, the reason was more or less so we could keep track of the model and price easily and the store we purchased it from would allow us to use the completion coupon on it - but only if it was listed on our registry.

I do not think you should. If you cannot afford to do nursery on own, you may want to by second hand or ask immediate family to help out. I would not look down on someone for registering, I just like to think that furniture for your home is your responsibility. Of course if your parents offer to buy it, that is great, but I would go shopping with them and pick it out.

We are registering for EVERYTHING we need. As a previous poster mentioned, we are doing this simply so we will receive the completion discount. Everyone I know does this. No one is going to say heyyy she shouldn't have that on there. And! Keep in mind there are people who like to go in on a really big gift. We had this done for us at our wedding. We were so grateful! So just keep those things in mind.
I've been using my registries like a shopping list. There are many things on there I don't expect others to buy. As I purchase them I delete them. I did this with the nursery furniture and the pillows that MIL said she would make.
Personally we did not. It is not customary in my family circles to receive gifts within that price range! My parents did purchase our glider for us, but it was more like they just gave us the money and we ordered it. We purchased our own crib, and were SO fortunate to receive a dresser/changing table hand-me-down from friends. It matches perfectly to our crib.
