Anyone do the TED diet?

I think this is my next step but have no clue how. What resource DS did you use??

  • I don't understand why you would put risky injections & creams into your body instead of just eating a clean, healthy meal.

  • I haven't but am considering it to see if it helps some of DS's symptoms even the pedi says she doesn't think it has anything to do with what I'm eating. You've been doing MSPI up til now right? I'm probably going to start there but wondering if it's best to just do TED and get all sensitivities figured out from the get go.

I must have found the wrong thing when I googled the first time. Whoops! My apologies OP. I added 'breastfeeding' to my search & found what you were asking about.

I did the same thing.  Apparently there is a Dr Ted diet out there that uses creams and claims you can lose 40 lbs in 17 weeks (or something like that).  I figured I found the wrong thing because I remember your LO has sensitivities.  Sorry, I am not much help considering I had never heard of it before!

  • I was considering it a while back -- this is as far as I got (sorry it's not clicky): https://www.askdrsears.com/topics/feeding-infants-toddlers/food-allergies/elimination-diet

I have been dairy and soy free for two months. He has green slimy blood diapers again. :(

:( hope you're able to figure it out. The limited research I've done on TED it seems like tomato, egg, nuts or citrus are other likely culprits.

  • I did full on TED and more than 2 months later am still adding things back in. It's gotten a lot easier though.

Have you eliminated beef? Some MSPI babies have a hard time with beef. Did he recently get shots? That can mess up the poops, too.

No shots. I read about beef. I LOVE beef!  After tonights steak on the grill, beef is out!  Where did you find info on adding foods.  I know to start its turkey, lamb, rice, potato(reg. or sweet) and squash (yuck). How do you choose what to add in?

  • I'd say next steps would be cutting beef, chocolate, caffeine, tomato and citrus. If no luck, maybe TED is a good option. I'm glad I did TED but it has been tough.

When adding back in, I looked up most allergenic foods and avoided those, and looked up least allergenic foods and started there. Salmon and avocado made an early debut bc they are higher calorie foods (it is challenging to get all your calories, especially in the early days of TED). I also avoided things I ate a lot of, and focused on foods I didn't eat often so I could get more in my diet and have less of a risk of reaction. Good luck! Keep us posted on your progress.
