I so wanted a glass of wine last night but chose not to because I was driving the kids (we met up with DH and FIL/SMIL). I just took defensive driving (for speeding) after watching all those wrecks...I couldn't but I am curious if others do. [Poll]
Totally not related to the question, but are you a One Tree HIll fan or is it purely coincidence that your kids have the same names as the married couple on the show?

My son is 16 and I have never done this and I don't plan to with Keira.
It's personal for me, my dad was an alcoholic and I have too many vivid memories of my dad swerving driving us home and barely missing a few phone poles and my mom yelling at him to pull over and let her drive.
I've never seen One Tree Hill (both of my BFFs love the show though). I knew the lead couple in the sitcom was Hailey and Nathan before we chose the name (because of a nestie) but in the end it came down to Hayden and Nathan and DH decided he liked Nathan best. Nothing to do with the show.
On the alcohol front, I am a light weight (as far as alcohol and well I weigh less than 100lbs), there would have been no waiting time btw the end of the drink and leaving because the kids were ready to go and it was bedtime for them.
I think one glass of wine over a 2 hour dinner is safe (for my weight, anyway - I think you're pretty petite?) and very different from doing a shot of tequila and immediately getting behind the wheel.
But as DD gets older and more aware I probably won't just so I won't seem like a hypocrite when I'm trying to hammer the "don't drink and drive" message home.
I voted no, but basically because I hardly EVER drink, so one drink would be enough to make me loopy enough not to feel comfortable with my kids in the car. I probably only drink once or twice a year!
Yes, I've had a glass of wine with dinner and then drove my son home. That was after finishing dinner, cleaning up dinner and having dessert. So, no I wasn't worried.

Liam is 5!
I don't think I ever have. The h has though, he has only had like one drink and it is over dinner.
LOL about the One Tree Hill...I have never noticed that, I seriously heart that show!
