Success after IF

I thought it would be easier this time around.

I knew that getting back on the IF roller coaster would be hard, but I thought that after having success it would somehow be easier this time. Boy was I wrong. After taking Provera I repeated my CD3 labs for the third time. My Estrogen levels are still high. So now I am on a BCP to try to "fix" my cycles. They are repeating CD3 labs once again when I finish the BCPs AF comes. We were planning to do our FET in April, but now we are on hold. After everyone saying how pregnancy fixes you, I must be the only woman in history whose body was totally screwed up after being pregnant. I feel so broken and the worst part is that my RE doesn't seem to know what is going on. He thinks he can get my body back on track but what if he can't. The nurse keeps telling me not to worry because you don't need your ovaries for a FET. That really upsets me because I feel like she isn't thinking long term. I am so sad and frustrated and scared... and we haven't even gotten to start cycling yet. I was prepared for a lot of difficult things when we decided to TTC#2, but I was not prepared for this.

  • ((Hugs)), sweetie. It's definitely a roller coaster, even if you've been through it before. Hope they can get your cycle straightened out soon!

I'm so sorry :(  After everything you were thought with IVF #1 I was really hoping this would be a smooth ride for you for #2.  So sorry to hear that it's proving otherwise.  Insanely frustrating to not have answers and to have everything post poned!  Lets hope this does the trick like your doc thinks so you can get the show on the road.  Sending big HUGS your way.  Keep your head up and try to take it day by day ... that's how I'm muddling through at least :)

  • I'm so sorry to hear this.  I'm jumping back into the fertility treatment pool myself for #2.

For me thus far, the second time around has had its own challenges - most of all, I think I have higher expectations of my body - creating unnecessary pressure on myself.

I hope things turn around soon for you!  Treat yourself to something nice this upcoming weekend.

  • So sorry sweetie :(

I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929

  • Ugh.  I am so so sorry.   Here's hoping that one month on BCP gets things righted and all goes smoothly with your FET.

We are moving a little more slowly than you, but I am already stressed about it, too...

  • I am sorry to hear that your body isn't quite ready to cooperate and things aren't going as smoothly as you had hoped. If it's any consolation, my body has been even more out of whack since I gave birth than it was before. You're not alone in your frustration. Working with our RE to plan an IVF cycle to TTC #2 has been a rocky road, filled with surprises we weren't prepared for.

I hope your RE is able to get your cycle on track soon so you can move forward. ((BIG HUGS))

  • I'm sorry it is sucky all over again.  But you are NOT the only one not "fixed" by pregnancy. :)  I had a completely different issue ttc#2 than I did the first time!

I hope you get some answers so so you can move forward with cycling.

  • I felt the same way and thought I would be prepared to accept it not working much better. Wrong. I too had more issues after pregnancy than before and had to work even harder for number two. But he's here and worth it and I hope you will have success very soon too.

  • I'm so sorry :(  Its so not fair!!  I wish that you could have been able to take your meds (with no side effects), have your FET, and get KTFU :(  I hope that this is all sorted out soon!!
  • ((hugs))
Trust me, I know exactly how you feel. Conceiving my son was so "easy" that I thought conceiving #2 was going to be a breeze. Boy was I wrong! IF sucks so bad.

We've been having a challenge with TTC #2 also, and it just makes me sad.  Hang in there....they'll figure this out.
