Working out despite back pain

Help! I have be having worsening back pain as the weeks of my pregnancy progress but I don't want to give up my workouts.  I have cut back to basically just yoga and walking with occasional strength training and fell like I am slacking.  I know how important continuing to workout is, but will I regret it after I have the baby if I push it now?

  • The back of my hips have been killing me the entire pregnancy. I found spinning and the eliptical worked best for me. Walking was the worst. Keep trying different things until you find what works best for you. Sometimes if I just pushed through it, it would feel better. I also was able to get massages once a month, and when things got really bad, I visted my chiropractor.

    I have 4 weeks until my due date and I'm still working out. However at this point since I'm so big I'm very limited, and my workouts are pretty pathetic.

    My advice to you is do as much as you can, as long as you can because it gets really hard at the very end.

  • Thanks for the tip.  I agree that pushing through is a good idea.  I have considered massage but can't seem to find any area that is "tight" enough to target.  Good luck with your approaching baby.  I can't wait till Im there!
