Back up car seat for other cars

We have the Evenflo Symphony e3 for my car and DH's car.  We really like it.  We want to get an extra car seat for my mom's car and are debating what to get.  DD would most likely only be in my mom's car for very short trips - I would say no more than 10 minutes absolute tops and all local roads.  Most of the time it would probably be just to go to the park.  I am hesitant to spend all the money on a car seat like we have and am looking for suggestions for other good car seats that are not as expensive.  Thanks!

Honestly,  I wouldn't do this. Even if the kid is only in the seat for ten minutes, that's all it can take for an accident to happen. Used car seats just make me nervous, unless we're talking about my seat being handed down to another kid and I know EXACTLY what it's been through.

We got our Cosco at Wal-Mart for $49.99, and I've seen them on sale there for as low as $29.99.

You didn't read she reccomended one from a friend you must have shitty friends if they would handdown a seat that had been in an accident.

As for the Cosco one they can be a pain to install of easy depends on the car/truck you put it in.
