C-section mamas - 2nd baby question

If you had a c-section the first time, how is your belly feeling this time as you grow? I feel like my belly is achy all the time as things are stretching, growing. I don't know if it is the scar tissue or what. Anyone else feeling this? I'm 10 weeks now and some days are worse than others. I know there are growing pains, but I don't remember them this early with my first pregnancy.

Re: C-section mamas - 2nd baby question

  • I get occasional acheness/pain around the scar which I believe is caused by the stretching but it's not unbearable or long lasting.  I did feel it sort of pull the other day when I sneezed at a weird angle but it was just momentary.

  • I am 9-10 weeks along as well, but haven't really felt any tenderness. However, I haven't really done much growing yet. At my dr's appointment, she mentioned how well my c-section scar had healed, so I'm hoping that means I won't have any problems with it :)

  • Every once in awhile I would feel some tenderness around the scar area.  But, I haven't felt anything in a couple weeks.  My DD is 2 1/2 though, so maybe if your LOs are closer together you would feel more tenderness there?

  • I have noticed anything different. I'm almost 10 weeks with twins and not even showing yet so maybe I will notice something as I get bigger?!

  • Mine hurts incredibly bad at times, probably for atleast an hour or two off and on everyday. My DD is 11 months not sure if it wasn't/isn't fully healed or what but I actually called the OB about it and they told me it was normal.
  • I get random pains/aches as well.  Sometimes when I sneeze, or sometimes when I roll around in bed at night.  They almost feel like RLP, but I feel like it's a little early for that - especially since everything should be more stretched out still.  But, maybe not?   I forgot to ask about it at my last appointment so I will try to remember at my next one.

  • I have noticed more pain and cramps then I remember with my first pregnancy.  My first child is 15 months old and I am currently 10 weeks pregnant.  I had my first appt with my nurse practitioner, but I will be bringing this up with my first Dr. appt. on 5/1/12.

With my first pregnancy I was so sick that I lost 15 lbs in the first 2 months, and this time I have not been sick at all, so maybe that is why I am noticing the cramps and aches more.  I have also gained a few lbs already so I think I will be much bigger this time around since I have skipped the sickness part.

Overall, I am not too concerned because I did have an early ultrasound to determine the due date and everyone looked great, normal, and on track.

  • I've had 2 c/s, and I never had any pain with my second pregnancy or this one so far. I've heard a lot of c/s mamas say that they have, though.

  • Im glad you posted this..my last one was a c-section and I have been experiencing this too.  Must be normal.  Are you thinking of doing a VBAC?  My dr says I am a good candidate but I have mixed feelings

  • I've had 2 c-sections and haven't noticed much of anything. There is some pinching sometimes when I stand up, but I honestly can't remember if I also had that the first time around.
