Of course, the crib that I want is backordered until the end of October! As a Plan B, I'm looking at this one (see below link). What are your thoughts of the changing table? The other one that I wanted had a little higher sides and back to the table and this one just seems a little more dangerous for bonking heads. What are your thoughts & experiences?
Re: Crib/Changer Combo Question
Personal opinion, but changing tables are pretty unnecessary. Your baby will outgrow that and you'll be stuck with an extra piece of furniture (that you paid for). The photos show it being used as a table, but it looks out of place to me.
I'd look into a low dresser that you can just put the changing pad on -- no bonking heads issues there either. We still use this for DD.

The book Baby Bargains has an interesting thought about crib/changing table combos: the changing table gives older babies a place to climb out of the crib and a potentially higher distance to fall.
I'm so glad I bought that book! (and haven't even opened it!!!) I think I'm leaning away from the combo now, as I found a cute and reasonably priced set at JcPenny's.
