Hello ladies! I started off posting on IF because we did IVF this past summer. I then moved over to PAIF and figured that I would progress over here to SAIF once my baby was born, which was supposed to be in May.
Well, things have not gone at all as planned! Long story short, I was hospitalized at 22w6d with what they suspected was pPROM and was on hospital bedrest for 24 days before my little girl Adalyn arrived on February 4, 2012 at 26w2d. I started spotting at 1pm, bleeding at 6pm, contractions about 8pm, spiked a fever and elevated blood count at 10pm, c-section at midnight, in which they had to give me ketamine and then general anesthesia (since I kept moaning when they pulled out Adalyn and they thought I could feel the pain--I don't remember a thing). Adalyn was born at 12:17am on February 4 and weighed 1 pound 12 ounces and was 12 inches long.
Adalyn is still in the NICU, but the vibe we're getting from her MDs and nurses is that she will be getting discharged in the next 2 to 3 weeks. It's still up in the air whether or not she will go home on oxygen, but we're not worried. Even if she needs to be on oxygen, I doubt she will need to be on it for too long. She is currently 5 pounds 4 ounces and is 16.5 inches long. For being a micro-preemie she is doing really well, and hasn't had any major problems or surgeries.
I look forward to getting to know all you ladies better!
Here's a pic of Adalyn that I took the other day. It was the first one that I was able to get with a hint of a smile. ![]()
