I've bought like 4 different kinds of sippy cups and DS will not drink from any of them I don't know what I'm doing wrong. How can I "make" him? DD was weaned off the bottle at 11 months but at this rate I don't know that DS will be ready at a year old. ughhh
Re: Sippy cups
I'm interested to know as well.. He can't understand the concept of tipping the cup.
I have the best luck using the straw cups..

We have these. From about 6 months to 9 months we took out the clear plastic valve deal on the inside so it flowed easier for her and she basically just poured it all over herself and the floor.
Then at about 9 months we put them back in and after about a week she figured out how to suck on it to get stuff out, and after another week she realized if she tipped it up she could get more.
We were lucky in that we didn't really do anything to teach her. She's only had water in them.
So no real advice... good luck though!
Which 4 have you tried? Does he put the spout to his mouth and suck it? Or will he not even do that? Does he drink of bottles now?
From the ones I've seen, this seems like pretty easy transition from the bottle:

That does look a good transitioner, thanks!
Hmm.... the TILTY cup has also been recommended on here a lot. It has a hard spout, but the liquid comes out a lot easier because they don't have to tip it back as much. Not sure what else to suggest other than to keep offering it. He'll figure it out eventually!

Bay would just chew on the spout on a sippy cup. So a few weekends ago I bought one with a straw. She took to it right away. So I dont really bother with the sippy cups anymore. I forgot her sippy one night and I ordered a childs water at the restaurant and she did so well. She sucked right out of the straw and pulled her head away after a few seconds and did not choke once! It was awesome!

We use the Tommy Tippee sippy cups, and D seems to like them.
We started with this one: https://www.tommeetippee.us/explora/547000_pink_purple.html
And now we're on this one: https://www.tommeetippee.us/explora/547004_purple_green.html

WE started with this one: https://www.amazon.com/Sippy-Bonus-Training-Green-Ounce/dp/B0038JDUG6/ref=sr_1_11?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1334605103&sr=1-11
That was at 6.5 months so I think he was too young for the concept, but we're back to it and he seems to like it. He drinks well from it.
The second one we got was this one. It's a straw cup and he took to it really well. (It was not $14, btw!)

He has used this one at my moms and does well with it as well. I also saw my niece using it yesterday with success (10 1/2 months)

We like this one too. Target has them for I think $6 apiece. I tried the Avent ones but those don't have handles and he doesn't seem interested in picking it up if there's no handle. He does really well with these. He does throw them on the ground as soon as he's had a sip, but I guess that's not the cup's fault.
us at dinner tonight .. none a success!
