October 2012 Moms

When people ask how far along you are what do you say?

Do you still use weeks, or months and when do you use the next month?  Hope that makes sense...

Someone asked me this weekend how far along I was and I said 4 months.  I am not 4 months till this weekend officially but I figured by that last week of the month I can just round it up Stick out tongue

  • I've been using weeks because I'm not sure when to start the next month!

  • I have been saying 15 weeks but it seems to confuse a lot of people so I just say about 3 1/2 months.

My mom was telling me when she was pregnant they used to go by days... I can't imagine trying to keep up with the days.

  • I use weeks and sometimes round up.  Since Tues is my ticker change day and I feel like I get asked the question more Fri-Sun I just add a few days. So this weekend I said 15 wks.
  • I always use weeks, months are too hard to count since most of them have 4.3 weeks, not 4 weeks exactly.  If I use months (rarely), I go by the date of my LMP (1/2/12) so on April 2 I would have said 3 months, and after May 2 I'd say 4 months.

  • I say weeks, because that is how I think about this pregnancy.

  • Most of my friends have never been pregnant so it feels like the weeks kind of throw them off so I just round up to months.  It seems to make it much easier.  Although, DH and I keep using weeks for ourselves.

  • I say months. When I'm in the last week of the month I round up.

  • I use weeks, too. Although I could see using months with someone who hasn't been pregnant.

  • Depends on who I'm talking to.  If I'm talking to someone who hasn't been pregnant, than I use months (and try to round to the nearest 1/2 month).  Otherwise I use weeks because that is how I track it.

  • I use weeks with DH, family and friends and months with everyone else b/c DH says he found the week thing a bit confusing at first lol!

  • I have been using weeks.  But I don't round up... I guess I should! So if someone asked me today I would have said 14 weeks, even though I am in my 15th week.

  • I use weeks.  I spend most of my time avoiding giving my exact due date so I don't worry about trying to figure out months.

I use weeks, then if they look confused, I'll say how many months.  So I'll say "about 14 weeks" then "about 3 1/2 months or so."

  • I say weeks for now (and just round, if someone asked me at 12 wks 1 day I woulda said 12 wks, but 12 wks 6 days? 13 wks). When I get further along, maybe by next doc appt, I'll just start saying 'about 4 months, about 4 and a half months, etc'.

  • I use weeks as well. I have a calender from Just Mommies that tells me the days as well and the month.
  • Weeks, I pretty much use weeks the whole pregnancy.  I convert it if they give me a confused look

  • I go by weeks, but I've noticed that people who don't have kids can't compute that into months.  They always ask, "Wait, how many months is that?"  So then I do the math for them. :)

  • I always answer in weeks but a lot of people say, well how far along is that? So then I'll tell them in months or 13 weeks out of 40.

  • i love this question...i tell people "13 weeks" and i get this look, and then, "how many months is that?" .....reallly?  lol!

  • Usually I say however many weeks I've finished but I'm starting to just translate it to months instead.  Last weekend I told one of DH's friends I was 13 weeks and he said- "so, like 4 months?" and I decided its just easier to guesstimate months and prevent finding out our friends are idiots haha.

  • I say weeks, just because its more fun to change it often. The people I hang out with are smart enough to translate weeks into months.

  • I always say that I'll be X weeks on Thursday. If you were to ask me today how far along I am, I'd say "I'll be 14 weeks on Thursday". LOL
