Supplements- new to board

I'm new to this board but am looking for some help! I gained way to much weight during my pregnancy and had some weight to lose pre-pregnacy as well. Now I have about 40 pounds to lose. I've been trying to work up my stamina by walking and plan on starting a couch to 5K training program soon (I've been having some hip trouble which is way I haven't started yet). I'm starting to think about trying some type of weight loss supplement to jump start my diet and I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck with anything in particular. DS is almost 3 months old and I am not BFing. TIA

  • I wouldn't recommend any weight loss supplements. Most are ineffective or can cause harm. 

    To get your body working efficiently for weight loss, consider making sure your Vit B levels are normal and your Vit D. Both of those most people are deficient in and could effect weight loss.

    Also small amounts of caffeine can help with weight loss as well. 

    I have found that eliminating sugar from my diet greatly helps with weight loss, energy and cravings.

  • I also would not recommend weight loss supplements.

    I would however recommend a primal/paleo style diet. Like Mark Sission's (author of "The Primal Blueprint") plan.
