My husband is absolutely in love with the name Kinsley Kate. I have a problem with it as I think it's very cute for a little girl's name, but I don't believe it will age well. And from the looks of it on the board, it doesn't seem like there's too many people on here that would side with my husband on this one. My dillema is, is that the girl name that I like probably won't age well either, but I still really like it. The girl name that's my top pick is Remy. Other names on our list (that I can get my husband to at least give a "that's just OK" to) are Hallie and Hadley. I'm not too thrilled about any of these

Anyone have any suggestions for girls names that are somewhat similar in style, but would age well so I can possibly get my husband on board with them? We are starting to run out of time....
Re: Girl Names Dillema
What about Katherine Kinsley, nn Kate?
I have a co-worker with a 2-3 year old named Kinsley, and while it's nms, it has grown on me through knowing that family.
I like this suggestion a lot! I cannot imagine Kinsley on an adult woman, although I guess I'll see it a lot in a few decades.

I LOVE Kinsley, so I vote Kinsley Kate 10000x over Remy. I would cringe at a little 2 year old girl named Remy.
ETA: My brother's 7th grade English teacher's name is Kynslee. It ages just fine, and it hasn't stopped her from being a professional woman. She is a very respected person and comes from a very respected family in our church.
I like the idea of going with a longer name that has a cute nn. I also think "Kate" is a really sweet name that CAN age well. Could you use Kate for your fn? I typically prefer it as a nn for Catherine, but I do think Kate alone could work. Other thoughts:
Emily
Rosalie (could go by full name or Rosie)
Calla nn Callie
Holly
No one is saying that the name will prevent her from being successful. But I would certainly think Kynslee was one of the students' (unfortunate) names before I met the teacher. I'm not sure what her respectability or her family's religion has to do with her name...

I don't think Remy is a cutesy, ages-poorly name. I think it has a nickname-y appeal, and it's certainly not "buttoned up"----but it's far from unprofessional or inappropriate on an adult woman.
I like PP suggestion of Aurora with NN Rory (or---GASP!---Rory on its own). But I don't think there's anything wrong with Remy. You might also consider Romy (either on its own, or as a NN for Ramona or Rosemary/Rosemarie).
Trendy and mis-spelled names often bring up the 'teen mom' and uneducated comments, and this family is anything but. I was just ruling that out automatically for any future comments. I am aware that Kinsley/Kynslee/Kinley have become very trendy and popular lately and most people can only picture it on a 3 year old, but as someone who knows a grown Kynslee, I like to share that the argument about resumes and careers is not really valid. All Ashleys and Jessicas started out as 'eternal little girl names' and they are perfectly acceptable now. The same will be true when this generation of babies grows up ans there are a million Kinleys, Kaylees and Kylies applying for professional jobs.
