Ok I"m really hoping the first two responses were not meant as ugly as they sounded.
I"m not suggesting my belly should be gone by now. I'm asking if starting to use the belly binder would be in vain at this point in time since it is suggested to use it right after birth.

But you did. You said my stomach still has a pooch...like you should at 4 weeks PP from a c-section.
Ok great. This was my first section and obviously I have no idea what to expect. I have lost all baby weight plus some so still having a distorted belly in new for me.
Still no reason in my opinion to be snotty about it.

It was my first child and first c-section. Common sense tells you that 4 weeks after major abdominal surgery your body won't be quite the same.
I wouldn't spend $60 on a belly bandit at this point, but like the previous poster mentioned some shapwear might make you feel better and might have a similar effect. GL!
It isn't about "winning." My issue is that people just expect to be back to their pre-pregnancy weight over night, and expect their babies to STTN at 3 weeks old...I don't understand what is wrong with people anymore!

FWIW I am with you. No one takes it easy anymore. It took me 16 months to get where I wanted to be, working hard the whole way (after my six weeks of real rest!). It just is not going to happen overnight.
OP, I never used a belly bandit and I have no belly pooch. I never really had the pouch some people talk about that hangs over the incision. I am not sure if it might have to do more with how your doctor closed your incision. My sister is as skinny as a rail, but has a pooch and I am not at all skinny and have no pooch. ::shrugs::
What I have learned about this site is that you have to ignore the crazy women. Apparently they are jealous because they still looked pregnant a year later and think that you should as well. While it takes some women more time to lose weight and belly longer than others, there are lots of women who can get back to looking the way they did before they had a baby. With that being said, I don?t think its too late to start wearing a binder if that will make you feel better. Shapewear is another option and is a little more affordable. If the pooch bothers you, wait another 2 weeks to get the OK from doc and begin light abdominal work starting crunches or sit-ups earlier than doc says can cause tearing of stitches as it happened to me after my last child (was trying to get ready for Military training). Keep in mind that it took your belly 9 months to get as large as it did, so give it some time to return to where it was.
BTW, this is the way your suppose to respond to a post for all you crazy women without home training.

Exercise. I started 2wks pp very light no abs at that time. I still have a small pooch and I am 9 month pp. So for some it take's time I am hope by 1yr July it will be back to my pre pregnancy.
Re: When is it too late?
At 4 weeks, I still looked 6 months pregnant. Slow your roll, OP.
yeah, give yourself some time. I wore my abdominal binder off and on for about six weeks. I am not sure if it will help but it can't hurt

Please show me where I said a word about my daughter sleeping through the night or being back to pre pregnancy weight overnight?
Your reaction was uncalled for. Period!
I had never had a Csection and I had a question. There is no reason it could not have been politely answered.
