Is this weird?

I have a dr appointment on Thursday for my son and I'm sort of compiling a list of things I want to ask...just cause I'm a worry type of mom :)

But my son just started this thing where he starts talking/babbling nonsense and then laughing at himself.  Sometimes he just laughs at random.  It does seem like he wants attention because most of the time he looks at me or DH while laughing.

My good friends son has some sensory issues and she mentioned before he randomly laughs.  I never saw him do it so I don't know what it looks like and feel rude asking her.

Just curious if this seems strange or normal.  My son is a kid who thinks he's funny, so DH thiks it's that, but I still think this is odd.

    It never hurts to mention things, but my DS does it too. He does the random outburst laugh when we're in the car. We think it's just his crazy little imagination having a great time :)

    My DS does it too. Sometimes he busts out in an "evil villian" laugh :)

    My guess is that when he laughs, you laugh and smile at him.  He is probably just looking for the parental reaction :)  Never hurts to ask, but we do have to remember that they are very weird at this age.

    At this age, I think it's fairly normal for kids to laugh at themselves. DD does it too. I think she is just testing out her "laugher". Kids are constantly learning and exploring and see things for the 1st times, so they react differently than us. As long as your son is meeting all of his milestones, I wouldn't be too overly concerned about it, but it can never hurt to bring it up to your Dr. Good luck!

    I can't remember if H randomly busts out laughing, but she def. does the babblebabblebabble laugh thing. My best guess is whatever she thinks she's saying is really cracking her shiitt up. :)
