Inexpensive manual/hand pump recommendations?

Hi ladies-

We found out recently that B has reflux and she's been refusing the breast here and there, depending on if she's having a flare up.  I typically keep my electric pump at work so I'd love to have an inexpensive manual/hand pump at home for the days she has a nursing strike and I need to pump off one side or the other. Any recommendations?

BFP #2- 7/13; EDD- 4/2/14; Lost DS at 20 weeks (11/16/13) due to cord accident

BFP #3- 3/14; EDD- 11/28/14; Lost DD at 15 weeks (6/7/14)- cause unknown

To my angels- I held you every second of your lives and I'll love you every second of mine.

  • I have the Medela harmony and it is fantastic! Its around $30. I found it cheapest at burlington baby depot. I use it every morning. I also leave my electric at work. It's also great for travel.

I agree and I swear by Medela products. I saw a good price on amazon for the harmony. It was $30 and some change.

I can get more milk in less amount of time with the manual pump.  Of course, I can only do one at a time so it's not good for at work, but if I'm just pumping one breast, this thing is awesome!

  • Fantastic ladies- thanks so much!

  • Ditto on the Medela.  I also have the Avent manual pump.  It's pretty good, but definitely "clunkier" than the Medela.  Amazon has been running a 15% off deal on Avent lately.

  • I've been exclusively using the cheapo Lansinoh manual pump for almost 6 months now with excellent results. I prefer it to an electric--I control the speed and it has better suction than the electric I tried, so I get done faster. I think it was just under $30 and has great reviews.
  • I can't compare to any other, but I love my Medela Harmony.
