I was 38 weeks 4 days pregnant... and the contractions started at night. It always seems to happen at night! Babies like to keep their mommies up all night

My due date was 3/29. My contractions started at 10:12pm on 3/27. I had DD at 4:53pm on 3/28. I had no contractions prior to the 27th (not even BH). AND at my ob appt on 3/26 I was about 80% effaced at a +1, but was not dilated at all. Hope this helps!

I was 36 weeks exactly when my water broke at 2 am. DS was born later that day.

DD#1 came on her due date. I woke up at 2am that morning and felt like I had to go to the bathroom. I got up and had a gush of something - thought I was wetting my pants! Turned out, my water broke! Contractions started and we headed to the hospital. She was born 6 1/2 hrs later.

I was due 3/20, set for a due date induction. Contractions started at 11:00 am on 3/19, got regular and timeable at 3:00pm, too painful to take anymore and went into L&D at 1:30 am 3/20. Had her at 6:48 pm on her due date, no induction needed.

With DS (#1), I was induced at 40w2d. I was at 3cm/75% effaced

With DD (#2), I went in for an induction at 40w6d, and I had been near 4 cm for almost 2 weeks. When I got there that morning, my OB started my induction by breaking my water, turned the pitocin on for less than 2 hours, and DD was out in less than 5 hours from when my water was broken. My sac was bulging too. I'm near certain I would have gone into labor on my own that day, but it was somewhat forced. My OB was surpised I hadn't gone on my own either, but oh well.

I guess my point is that there is no rhyme or reason to it, and it will happen when it happens.

Disagree. I was 40 weeks 5 days with J. And the contractions for both LOs have started in the morning. Well, technically I had one before I went to bed the night before with J. But then nothing (or at least nothing that interrupted sleep) until I woke up for the day.

My contractions started in the morning a week and one day before my due date, so almost 39 weeks. My total labour and delivery experience was 18 hours and LO was born on the leap day.

DS1- 40w2d woke in the middle of the night to broken water and contractions, born 7.5 hours later.

DS2- 40w3d had some contractions when I woke up but didn't go into labor until I got home and DS1 was in bed, born 2.5 hours later.

I was due March 29, and contractions started April 1. They became progressively more painful so I started timing them around 10pm. My little girl was born April 2 at 10:01pm!

My water actually broke on the 30th or 31st, but it was a slow, progressive leak so I wasn't really aware of it. I had a feeling something was up, but wasn't positive. My doctor confirmed it when I was in labor at the hospital.

My water broke at 5pm at 40w2d and she was born at 9:15pm at 40w3d.

My contractions first started at 40w4d on a Friday, went to l&d twice overnight over the weekend and got sent home both times and on Monday at 41w, I had my weekly appt and immediately got sent to l&d due to decreased heart rate and being 4-5 cm. After 4 1/2 hours of labor, I was sent in for an emergency c-section due to decreased heart rate.

My water broke at 5:44 on 3-17. I was 39+2. He was born on the 18th via c section. I was in labor 27 hours and 18 minutes; from when my water broke to when they pulled him out of me. I wouldn't dilate past an 8.
