Update on lost engagement ring (not good)

For those of you who don't know what I'm referring to, I lost my engagement ring in my house...or so I thought. I left it on my nightstand and only found the band under the bed. I searched my house a million times over, cleaned and nothing. I even had my dog xrayed and checked his poop every day.

Well, today I walked into my closet where my change bucket is...it is a huge bucket and must have had a couple of hundred dollars in it. It was our baby fund. The bucket wasn't there.

Long story short...WE WERE ROBBED.

A diamond bracelet was missing too.

We just filed a police report. Life is just awesome. On the up side...my ring is very unique. Hopefully one of the pawn shops will have it.

That's awful news! I am so sorry! The only silver lining might be if you have insurance on the ring...theft would be covered. Geez, scan those pawn shops, girl!

I also forgot to mention that I live in a squeaky clean neighborhood. The kind where a stolen purse ends up in the crime portion of the township newsletter. So much for that.

I have to talk to my insurance guy on Monday. I would think its covered for a robbery. Ugh.

Good Lord! That just bites.... I had my car robbed a few years ago and they ended up catching the guy and returning the stuff... I never even filed a report because I had no idea what he took... the guy stole some checks to an account that was closed and that's how they knew who I was. Long story short... I'm praying that they'll return your stuff soon.... Good luck!

Oh no! That is plain old awful. And is scary to boot. I really do hope you are able to find that ring in a pawn shop or that they catch the person who did this and recover what was taken.

You had been on my mind this week, and I had been hoping that all ended well. It still might - FX that it will be found at a pawn shop or something. I'm so sorry you have to deal with the hassle and frustration of this on top of everything else.

I am so sorry. That just sucks. I do know some people who got robbed and later found their stuff in pawn shops, so it can happen. FX that it does for you, too. ((hugs)) and a second martini (or a third) to you!

People can really suck sometimes, and I'm sorry that someone did this to you! Before we moved out of the city, our garage and basement got broken into several times and even though they didn't take anything of sentimental value, it still sucks to feel like someone violated your sense of security. I hope you get your ring back!!!

I'm sorry that you had a similar experience. It's so shocking to find out how many people's homes have been broken into. It definitely got me thinking about why we didn't take certain measures like getting an alarm system installed or buying a safe to put the valuables in.

And yes, it definitely completely sucks to think about someone being in your house and violating your security. I had a hard time sleeping last night and didn't want to leave my house during the day.
