Pain relief for preggo people? Tylenol not cutting it.

It was a terrible klutzy accident of comedic proportions.  I broke my nose on Monday morning.  I have back-to-back doctor appts all next week to check it out now that the swelling is starting to go down, but MAN does my face hurt!!!  Other than regular strength tylenol and ice (as prescribed), I've just been toughing it out.

Does anyone have any homeopathic or other suggestions for pain relief?  I'm really hesitant to take anything stronger than tylenol.

Give your doc a call he or she may be able to prescribe something stronger, although you may need to go in for it.  When I had kidney issues they gave me pain killers through an IV.

You can take up to 4000 mg of tylenol per day, as long as you have no liver issues.  Try taking at least 650 mg per dose, every 4-6 hours.

Other than that, your only options are prescription-strength narcotics like lortab or vicodin.  They are safe in pregnancy for short-term use to relieve acute pain.
