ADHD book for kids

My DD has ADHD, she will be 6 in June and was diagnosed in August. We have explained everything and she seemed to understand but she is having more and more questions which I expected. DH and I were thinking that getting a book that is written for kids with ADHD might be helpful for her and her sister to better understand why my DD acts the way she does or feels the way she does.

Thanks - I had been jhoping for some real life , I used this book, answers. I have done a search and came up with some titles like you did here but was just hoping someone had used a book with their child.

My 5yr old DS and 6yr old DD are ADHD and the doctor that prescribes thier meds is also a child psy. He counsels them once and month and refills thier meds at the appts. He does this to make sure they are emotionaly handling things well and answers any questions they might have or I might have. If I have an issue with one of the kids I can talk to the dr. about it with the child present and he turns around and speaks "kid" to them about the situation and how to better handle things. It is great. Its kind of a pain having to go so often but kids with ADHD have issues before medicine and then a new set of issues afterwards. Good luck. Im going to look into the books referenced above as well.

Dr. Bonita Blazer has a series of books written for grade school aged children to read. They are informative and written at a grade school aged child's level.

I am not sure if you are familiar with the CHADD organizaion, they are a pretty good resource also.
