Anyone sick with a cold, etc during their c-section?

I had a wicked cold and upper resp infection that I just got over, and now my big fear is that it will come back again. My c-section is scheduled for Tuesday and not sure why I have this fear.

Anyone else sick during their cs? I suppose it happens.

    uggh yep i was, and it really sucked. i had a nasty cough and it hurt so bad after my c section when i had to cough or sneeze. Honestly i think the c section and recovring from major surgery made my cold last longer. i thought about trying to get my doctor to rescedual my c section. but anyways good luck to ya and hopefully the sickies will stay away!

    I started getting a sore throat and stuffy nose 3 days before my C-section.  I was nervous about coughing during the surgery and not being able to breath!  All went very well, but it was very dry in the hospital and I was so congested.  It took almost 3 wks to get over the cold.  One of the nurses had said something was going around because she had been sick too.

    Hope you feel better and everything goes smoothly!

    I started coming down with a cold a couple days before my csection. My hospital routinely gives a couple doses of antibiotics following csections (to prevent infection) and I think that must have been enough to knock it out because I left the hospital (2 days pp) feeling fine.

    yes...but I had it during the section.  You sound like it is over.  I just had to tell anesthsia about it and they watched me, but it is what it is and it was sort of crappy because I could barely get anything done before my section.  I had to go on antibiotics and everything.

    I don't know why your fearing that it will come back when you just got over it.  I wouldn't worry about it.  Call your dr. if your still having symptoms just so they are aware.

    I did.  My membranes ruptured several days before a scheduled section, and I was congested with a nasty cough from post nasal drip so I had an emergent section.  The worst part was sneezing and coughing post op.
