I learned a new trick this week! If you microwave your sandwich for just a few seconds (maybe 10 seconds) before you use a sandwich sealer, the bread sticks together much better at the seam! Cool!
Pizza bites! I thought these would go over really well but DD didn't like them. The recipe is https://lickthebowlgood.blogspot.com/2010/07/annoying-habits.html. Also in the box are raisins, Goldfish, an Easter egg cupcake topper, strawberries, snap peas and a sliced kiwi.
One more bunny lunch! Triple-decker sandwich (almost zero bread waste) topped with a few layers of cheese, carrots, grapes, hardboiled egg, strawberries and some ABC cracker/cookies. This was packed in a Tupperware sandwich container, and I just closed it up and stuck the leftovers in the fridge for a snack.
Ice cream! Sandwich topped with cheese and sprinkles, strawberries, Easter egg cupcake topper, a few halved snap peas, hardboiled egg and while the "cone" looks real, it is actually silicone and had grapes on the bottom and a kiwi on top.
Preschool field trip day, so this was a to-go lunch. On the bottom tier are trail mix with chocolate chips, baby carrots and shelled edamame. Top tier had dried apricots, sealed/halved peanut butter and honey sandwich and grapes. The sandwich is protected by sushi grass so it would not get wet from the fruit, and that's the only disposable part of the lunch. I packed this bento box really tight, and after 4 hours at the zoo, it looked exactly the same when it was opened.
I chaperoned the trip, so I needed a lunch, too! Mine isn't "cute" but it was healthy and not squished! And if you look closely on one of the strawberries, you can see a heart-shaped mini fork. I love these things! Packing a fork is sort of a pain but these little guys are perfect because they tuck right into the lunchbox and keep your hands clean while you eat. The box is quite small but it held a full sandwich (halved and stacked), a handfuls of grapes, carrots and strawberries. Small fork is from: https://www.allthingsforsale.com/bento-food-pick-chopsticks/1744-japanese-bento-box-accessory-heart-fork-food-pick-12-pcs-4904705158218.html . It looks like they're out of stock at the moment but they have several other varieties.
PIP your cute lunches here! Have a great week!
Re: *Cute lunch check-in*
Here's how I do it:
With your image open in Flickr, click on "share" and then click on the white box of text that appears beneath that. Copy all of that (it won't let you pick something specific out of it).
It should look like this: t <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/32798153@N08/6916207344/" title="IMG_5953 smaller by brightning, on Flickr"><img src=" ****https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5442/6916207344_b135deef31.jpg***** " width="500" height="375" alt="IMG_5953 smaller"></a>
I paste all of this into a Sticky Note (or NotePad document). Then just copy the parts that I marked with asterisks (it wouldn't let me bold, sorry), making sure NOT to include the quotation marks.
From there, I paste it into a post on here using the "little tree" icon, and for my 5x7 formatted photos, I do 375x281 dimensions.
HTH!!
Our little bunny lunch: bunny sandwich, carrots w/tomato and bunny pick, bunny cookies, veggie chips and bunny gummies.
Thanks for the info for how to post. I try cute lunches most days but at 6 am I forget to take a pic. I will try to do it a more
It is a Goodbyn- it gets mixed reviews but he has no issues opening/closing it and it is a good size for lunch. I like it- it comes with a small juice bottle but I rarely use it since they give him milk at dc.
I also use some other bento boxes and he is a pro at getting in them. I love all of your lunches.
Moose is loose: Applesauce sun, moose quesadilla and broccoli grasses
This summer, I'm going to start sealing all of DD's lunches up in the bento containers so she can do it independently for kindergarten. I'm sure she can do it, she just doesn't have much practice.
Love the moose! We had that cookie cutter until my mom asked to use it to make pottery.
