I travel a lot, but this week was the first time since I found out I'm pregnant. Yesterday at LAX, like an idiot, I walked into the backscatter scan machines in the security line. I typically zone out while being shuffled through and ignore TSA, otherwise I get super irritated and angry. So, anyway, I walked out and realized...OMG, I'm pregnant.
Any other traveling ladies go through those stupid things? Did your doctor or midwife give you advice on whether or not to go through them?
Re: backscatter scan machines at airport security
I don't have any advice, but I would totally feel the same way! If it was unsafe, they'd have warnings posted (I hope).
I was at LAX last week, and the five people before me got body scanned, but they put them through a separate line. It didn't even dawn on me until after I went through the separate line that I was selected to not be body scanned. Everyone else behind me was body scanned also. I was totally relieved. Then I got offended. Do I not look dangerous? I can be dangerous!
