I had a lap to dx and remove endo (stage II-III) in 2007. In 2008 I had another to remove an abdominal ectopic pregnancy.
I never had any issues with pain while I was pregnant with DD.
This morning while picking DD up to get her changed, I noticed a sharp pain in my lower left side, at about the level where my hip bone is. All day it has gotten worse, at times taking my breath away, and now it's constant. It's worse when I'm sitting down and sometimes radiates to my back. At first I thought it was RLP, but the fact that sitting down makes it worse didn't make sense.
I had my 16w OB appointment today and he did a pelvic exam and my uterus and ovaries feel normal. Baby is doing fine. When I pointed out the pain he said, "Well, that's where your ectopic was, so you probably have some adhesions in that area."
I love my OB (especially the fact that with no chart or anything in front of him he knew my exact surgical history) and I trust that he knows what he's talking about. He couldn't tell me how long it would last and I'm freaking out that I could be dealing with this for a while. It's making it difficult to work and almost impossible to pick DD up (which sucks, because DH is OOT until Sunday afternoon).
If you had any pain from adhesions while pregnant, how long did it last? Was there anything you did to make it feel better?
Re: If you've had a lap/abdominal surgery - adhesions?
When I was pg with DD (first pg after ectopic) I had a lot of pain in the area of my ectopic (right tube) in fact any abdominal pain I feel is generally in that location first.
Mine never got unbearable however I wouldn't ignore it if it gets worse or doesn't go away.
