AF is a big presence in a woman's life, it punctuates(forgive the bad pun) every month and in a way many life events, what we wear, what we do, when we go on vacations, and of course ttgp So I was wondering...
1. When did you get your first?
2. Your longest period was?
3. Your shortest period?
4. Most memorable/embarrassing period story?
5. What do you say in IRL?
My answers:
1. freshmen in Highschool somewhere between 15 and 16
2. Just shy of two weeks, (that was the first one and it was sheer hell)
3. A Day and a half (the most recent, really AF why come at all?)

Freshmen year, still adjusting to the whole thing and have wacky timing AF surprised me one day just before the last class of the day. Didn't have a pad and the school bathrooms didn't have vending machines. I was too embarrassed to ask for help so used tp, tied my jacket around my waist, and hoped for the best. By the time school was out and my +hour bus ride over, I'd soaked through my jeans into my jacket. I will never forget spending over an hour rinsing out my clothes in the bathtub in ice cold water til my hands were numb. Saved both the jeans and the jacket though and I never left the house again without a pad regardless the time of the month til i got on bc and things evened out and became predictable for once.
5. I usually say 'on my period' though occasionally its 'get/got my period' as if its some magnificent gift

4. nothing really embarrasing. Memorable? nah, but if I didn't have FF I could rely on my lovely co-workers, We all have the same cycle ( within a few days of each other)

4. Most memorable/embarrassing period story? I wasn't prepared when i got my first period, so I just shoved TP in my panties and hoped for the best. I was really lucky that I had light flow that day.

2. Your longest period was? 9 days (including spotting)

4. Most memorable/embarrassing period story? I bled through onto my pants at school in like grade 10. I tied my jacket around my waist and told the teacher I was sick. I walked 25 minutes home with my jacket around my waist. haha...haven't relived that in awhile!

3. It was about 2 days. I will never go on BC again.
4. I was in 9th grade and was stressing over a test. I had a tampon in and a pad on and still bled through. It was the size of a cantalope (sp?) on my pants. Luckily my friend saw it and gave me here sweatshirt to wrap around my waist. I had to walk home to change my pants. So embarrassing!

4. Most memorable/embarrassing period story? In college I was at my boyfriend's house, and his dog had gotten into my purse. His family walked into the room and the dog had chewed up an unused tampon - which had obviously come from my purse, as it was laying next to it.
5. What do you say in IRL? If I'm telling my husband, I say that my period started, or just casually "it started". Or another example would be if I'm talking to a friend or on here, I just say I have my period. I never understood why people say "on my period". It's one of those things that makes me cringe when I hear it. What are you on? If you have a headache, are you on that? If it's winter, are you "on" winter? No, it's just happening. You are experiencing it.
1. When did you get your first? November 25, 1994 (age: 12). Yes I know it's sad I remember the date.

4. Most memorable/embarrassing period story? Embarassing would be I played Basketball in High School. Our b-ball uniforms were white. At the begining of the game, I got my period. White shorts + period = disaster.

4. Most memorable/embarrassing period story? I've never like tampons. I've always been able to feel them no matter what kind I've tried and how many different ways I've tried to put them in.
My exH (then boyfriend) and I went to a get together at a friend's house when I was 19. We were going to be swimming so I, again, attempted to use a tampon. Hours later, when I was changing back into my clothes, I went to remove it and could not find a string. I panicked and had horrible images of having to go to the ER to have it removed. I called my exH into the bathroom where he attempted to find it. It took about 30 or 40 minutes, but he finally did. It was traumatizing and painful and I've never used tampons since then.
My friend was upset when we finally came out of the bathroom because she thought we were having sex because we were in there so long and the sounds I was making. She felt awful when I told her what was really going on.

4. Most memorable/embarrassing period story? My very first one was hardly anything. The next one was at girl scout camp, and I was wearing neon green shorts (it was early 90's) with no protection and there was a LOT! I had nothing on me either, so a counselor luckily helped me. So mortified.

4. Most memorable/embarrassing period story? I remember in 6th grade I had to call my mom from school because I had bled through my panties and my jeans... I remember her explaining to me that sometimes your period is heavier than others and you might have to change your pad (I didn't wear tampons then) more often than usual or double up! hahaha!
5. What do you say in IRL? if i'm telling my hubby I say "started..." otherwise, I just say "I'm on my period"... DH calls it "raggin" I hate that!

2. Your longest period was? 3 weeks, while I was in HS then it stopped for 10 days and came back for a week. That continued for like 2 months and I got on BC to regulate.
3. Your shortest period? Um maybe like 3 days.
4. Most memorable/embarrassing period story? Can't think of any.
5. What do you say in IRL? On my period. Though I like to gross DH out and I tell him I'm bleeding.

- I don't know. Around 8 or 9 days.
3. Your shortest period?
- 3 days naturally. Although I was on the depo provera in for a year in high school and didn't get a period for 2 years because of it. Never again.
4. Most memorable/embarrassing period story?
- In 7th or 8th grade I didn't know that you could get your period 'early' or 'late'. I unexpectedly got it in the middle of a school day and had to call home to get a clean pair of jeans brought to school. I was stuck in the guidance office for about an hour waiting and got a lot of embarrassing questions when I got back to class.
5. What do you say in IRL?
- I normally say I'm bleeding to my SO lol. To other people I say I have or I'm on my period.

We had mexican food that night and I thought my stomach was messed up from that, but that was my first time with cramps. So after freaking out in the bathroom, I yell for my brother to tell him what was going on (we are very close). Then he goes to get my dad and he's freaking out and starts to ask what I need or what he wanted me to do. So he asks "do you need some supplies" and after me sitting on the toilet for the 15 minutes it took him to go pick up some items, he comes back with these pads that I swear went from the front to the back of my panties, I about died! I called my Mom soon after and was crying, lol. Kind of weird to come out of the bathroom to continue with the movie we were watching.
So when I need tampons, I tell H that I need more supplies..I've called them that ever since.
5. What do you say in IRL? I say either I've started my stuff or I'm on my stuff, I'd like to smack the person who started Aunt Flo...WTH?

4. Most memorable/embarrassing period story? I got my first period at school in the 5th grade. I went to the nurse and she gave me one of those huge pads she had in her closet. I had to go back to class in the library and felt like I was sitting on a phone book. Everyone knew that I was in the nurse's office because I had gotten my period and I was mortified!

I got home and after an hour it hit me. I was so pissed and upset. Stay home sick for a couple days and when I got back my long time crush asked if I was feeling better -- as I was trying to find a way to get a pad from my locker to the bathroom without being noticed...
5. What do you say in IRL? Aunt Flo - DH asks if my "visitor" is in town. We also refer to "her" as a "b*tch"

4. It was a few months after I had gotten my first and wasn't regular, yet. It surprised me one day while I was wearing a skirt and sitting in class. It got all over the chair and down my leg. A classmate asked me about it and I said that I cut my leg really bad...

We went to the theater to see The Hunger Games (Sunday morning showing) and I totally forgot to put in a tampon that morning when I got out of the shower. I didn't realize it until right before the movie started. Needless to say I had to make a mad dash to the restroom. Of course it was CD 2 so I had a huge mess and ruined my underwear. I told DH when we got home and he laughed at me. Somehow the whole ordeal made me feel like I was 13 again.

November 2014: IVF w/ICSI #4 Agonist/Antagonist with EPP and Prednisone, Baby Aspirin, Lovenox, and IVIG for immune issues. Converted to freeze all due to lining issues. 2 blasts frozen on day 6!
January 2015: FET #2 Cancelled due to lining issues
April 2015: FET #2.1

4. Most memorable/embarrassing period story? I don't really have one. The summer before I got my period though I was going away to summer camp and my mom wanted to make sure I had pads with me in case I got my first period there. Unfortunately she was having a lot of health problems that summer so my dad was the one who had to talk to me about it. Awkward!
5. What do you say in IRL? I don't really say anything to anyone about it. If DH asks or I tell him I just say "I got my period".
