....consistently, what is your schedule? And did you have night time wakings? My DS wakes at one but doesn't eat til three or so. I give him paci and he's usually back out but I don't know if he show CIO or not?
We have the same basic schedule everyday and she slept through the night for 8 consecutive nights. And then she stopped. Now she's up 3-4 times each night. Clearly she does what she wants and I don't have the answers. lol
DD is pretty good about STTN night now, and this is our loose schedule:
Wakes 5am to eat, then back to sleep until DH wakes her at 7am to go to daycare. She'll eat around 8am, go to sleep for an hour (or so), then plays until she eats again at 11am. She usually takes a longer nap (1-2 hours), plays, and then eats again at 2:30-3pm. I pick her up and feed her every 2 hours to make sure she eats enough times during the day and to get her "tanked up" for the night. So I feed her 3-4 times until we put her down around 9pm for the night.
We used to have nighttime wakings but now she's doing 9-5 (which is our schedule).
DS2 has been STTN for awhile now but he's been going to bed earlier and earlier each night this week. Last night he fell asleep on me at 7:45 (I had intended to put him down at 8:15) so I put him in bed and he was still sleeping when I left for work at 5:30. He doesn't nap much at daycare though. A cat nap in the morning and a longer one (about 1.5-2 hours) in the afternoon.
We don't have a set night time routine since we don't bathe him every night. I just put on his night time diaper, wool cover, and pj's before feeding him his last bottle. I need to get in the habit of doing the last bottle in his bedroom.
ETA: He's way too young to CIO. One night feeding at 2-3 months old is totally normal. I might see if you can pacify him with a paci or rocking but I wouldn't let him get upset...I'd just feed him.

love is for every her, love is for every him, love is for everyone
I get home from work at 6 in the evening and immediately snuggle with DS for about half an hour to an hour, read him a book or just talk to him. Then I give him a bath and lotion him up with the Johnson's Sleep Better lotion. I nurse him and rock him at the same time and he usually falls asleep then which is between 7:30-8:00. He wakes up between 4-5 to eat and usually falls asleep again for 3 more hours.

Every baby is so different, it's mostly up to them with a little help from you as parent. Lucky for us, LO started STTN @ 6 weeks. Since he was about 3 wks we had done a routine every night around 10 of bath, bottle, bed. He gradually slept longer and longer, and now sleeps until 7 (although he's done a couple mornings till 8). If you start their bedtime routine too early, they're going to wake up in the middle of the night, they're just too young to go that long. That's why we're starting late and will move DS's bedtime earlier as he gets older.
Our daytime routine is still pretty much a 3-hour cycle of eat, play, sleep. Nothing exciting there, but I have noticed DS has started to take a longer nap in his last 3 hours. We've also eliminated his bath to every other night. We just did that initially so he'd understand that bath time meant night time, but now he has his nights and days sorted out.
We also have a pretty loose schedule. He eats and falls asleep somewhere between 9pm and midnight, then sleeps for 6-8 hours, wakes up to eat, then falls asleep for another 3-4 hours. I can't complain, I am getting tons of sleep and he is very happy entertaining himself on his play mat or in his swing. Lucky to have such a happy little baby!
