I remember back in the day hearing that women weren't supposed to color their hair when they were pregnant because they weren't sure if the chemicals could transfer to the baby. (This was back when Kelly Ripa was on All My Children and had some massive roots going on.)
I've never colored my hair so I've never thought about it since, but I did get a permanent wave last summer. Does the same theory apply with perms? I want to go back to the RE in June. I'm wondering if I should schedule another perm right before that? I know it won't last me through the pregnancy, but maybe I'll be bored with it all by then anyhow and want to chop it off. ![]()
Any thoughts or suggestions?
Re: Dumb question about treated hair & pregnancy
Coloring your hair is perfectly safe during pregnancy...my OB is absolutely fine with it. He said to go for it, just don't drink the hair color and you are fine ;-)
Yep, same here
My doc said the only issue is if the fumes were to cause m/s to flare up. Not 100% sure about perms but I imagine it's the same theory.
