Feeling need to pee when working out?

I STILL fight the urge to run off to pee when I am workng out post-DS.  I didn't do much until about 6 months, and then it was easy enough to hop off the treadmill and run to the bathroom the first few times.  Now though, I am doing an outside Momma-Baby-Stroller bootcamp in the park and I have spent 2 of the 3 sessions (90 mins each) trying to not pee my pants when we're jumping, etc.  Running, squats, etc. seem to be fine, but "kicking" our bums while running, "high knees," etc. are killing me.  It is first thing in the morning, and I am trying to stay hydrated the night before and avoid drinking anything on the drive there or more than the odd sip in the first part of the session.

Any thoughts or advice?  Will this fade like it did when I first started running again?  I am thinking I might throw on a liner or even pad tomorrow to ward off leak worries.

ETA - I was quite ill with HG and extreme vomiting for much of my pregnancy, so the "leaks" started happening really early.  It seemed to be much better the past few months until I got a cold and was back to brutal coughing and "snissing."

Yep.  I had to do this for almost a year.

  • Thanks.  Glad to know I am not the only one, and I guess you found that helped, so I shall give it a shot!

  • Well, I wish I had an answer for you...DS is 14 months and I still almost pee myself doing certain exercises. Just tonight doing the 30 day shred I was doing jumping jacks and peed a little. I'm sorry for all of us that suffer with this. It does seem to get better over time (for me) but there are still just certain things that trigger it.

  • I felt this concern, too for a while. I think that continued exercise and kegels brought my muscles back into shape over time. Meanwhile, the pad/liner is just good sense. :)
