Let's talk pants ladies

So with DS I was so small and hardly had a bump and only wore low-rise maternity pants.  This time I wore the same pants for the whole time (so far) but more and more I am feeling like my belly is on the verge of being exposed.  It hasn't happened yet.  I just refuse to buy any new stuff at this point (35 weeks).  Anyone else still in low riders?  I did try one pair of kangaroo pouch pants but they were so uncomfortable!  Any suggestions??

  • I don't blame you for not wanting to buy more things.  Can you just wear tanks under your tops so you aren't on the verge of exposure?  They have been my saving grace.

  • yes i wear longer tanks everyday and tuck them into my lowrise maternity pants. then wear a regular top like normal. i hate those pants with the long belly thing too. but i do like those yoga pants with a folddown waist band. i pull it up right over my belly :) theyre soft and comfy and dont fall down. mine are from aerie but im pretty sure u can get them many places
  • Foldover waist yoga pants -- if you get plain black and still wear nice flats with them, you can dress them up a bit.

  • I just wore my regular leggings....recently I've switched to maxi dresses which i find far more comfy than pants. Somehow I have managed to not buy any maternity clothes...whoo hoo!

  • I'm still in low rise... some shirts were getting a bit risky and I did not want the belly hanging out everywhere hahaha

My solution - my belly band = life saver! I love it so much i can wear whatever I want and even unbutton my pants if they get uncomfortable! I can officially say that I LOVE my belly band!

  • The only pair of maternity jeans that still fit me are low riders, and I am constantly pulling them up.  They are plenty tight, but my sloping belly pushes them down.  I waddle around school (I  am a teacher) thinking 'pants an the ground, pants on the ground, looking like a fool with my pants on the ground'.  I am not a fan of saggy crotch... but I also refuse to buy anything new.  My two dresses, pair of khakis and one pair of jeans will just have to do!

  • Empire waist, maxi, and babydoll dresses. I'm so glad it's warm enough for them now. I've gained 40 lbs w this pregnancy and I swear it's all in my hips, thighs, and bootay. Lol.

  • I live in yoga pants... They aren't maternity but have the fold over band... I have just unfolded it for some coverage of my lower belly. My belly has dropped so much in the past week I don't know how I could put on my other pants. I have to on Monday though when I go back to teaching after spring break. I am just going to wear a long tank with everything.
  • You guys are great!  Thanks so much for all the great ideas!  I guess I need to dig out my tank tops from my first pregnancy....it's still not tank weather here so I guess i never even thought of that!  also, i am sporting my yoga pants today and i almost feel guilty b/c I'm so darn comfortable...feel like I'm in my pajamas!!
  • I wouldn't buy anything new at this point, just wear some long tanks under your shirts if you're afraid of showing a little belly.

I need the full panel otherwise they ride too low on my hips and slip down (I have no hips, basically).
