Dear co-irker

I'm so tired of you trying to make me look like I'm incompetent because you're an idiot that doesn't know how to do your job and you want to take the pressure off yourself.  I'm doing my best to remain professional, but I don't know how well I'll do once I start injections.

Re: FFC - on a Thursday

  • You should let'em have it!  Hugs, I hate people like that.

I posted my infertility awareness post on FB yesterday and I received one reply that is really bothering me.  A friend of mine who knows all about our trouble complained to me about how hard it has been ttc for the past six months.  Whatever.  She asked me if there was anything she should do.  I gave her the usual rundown or reading and supplements.  Her response to my FB post was "all I can taste is pineapple core and pomegranate juice, LOL".  I feel so angry for some reason.  I wish I didn't give her any tips.  And I find it slightly insulting that she would think that's appropriate to post to an INFERTILITY status...sorry, infertiles can't be fixed with effing pineapple and pomegranate juice.

That - and maybe some Mucinex to thin out the CM :)

My parents know that IVF is our only option.  I've explanied this to them many times.  What do they do?  They give me a "fertility statue" to put in our bedroom (wink, wink).  Seriously, the wink, wink was so unbelievably strange and uncomfortable.

Funny you mention that.  After posting the same on my FB yesterday, my cousin borrowed it for her status.  She is 25, has been trying for around 6 months, and has now diagnosed herself IF.  Her MIL commented "Oh I love you honey", and I just thought OMG she's been telling people she's IF!!

Yep, it's very trendy you know.

I also got a message from an old friend saying "I know this might seem strange coming from someone with five little hooligans, but we struggled for four years between M and H and after an HSG and a bit of clomid, things were 'working' again.  My ears are open anytime you need to talk".  OMG...you have five kids!  What the hell are we going to talk about?  And clomid is bullsh!t.  Oye.  I'm very glad I posted, but I tell ya.

I hate hate hate it when fertiles like to say they struggled. My cousin said she had a "hard time" conceiving too and her doctor told her to drink 1 glass of wine every night to relax her. The month she did, she got pregnant..and one night she even went a little too far and drank the whole bottle. Yeah lady....I have had my share of wine in the past and my ute is still empty.

My FFC is that I have been avoiding thebump lately. I am taking over for a women who is 6 months pregnant with twins and have been around her all day everyday all week, so when I finally get some downtime I am trying to get my mind off babies... but I MISS YOU LADIES! This has been hard, I just hope this FET works this month because I am not sure how I will deal with a BFN and still have to work with this woman...

  • Does anyone else feel like Target isn't a "safe" place anymore?! I was there buying gift wrap/card for a baby gift, so obviously i'm already struggling just to be there. Then, while looking for a card, i'm bombarded by Mother's Day cards. Agh. Then, as i'm looking for my baby shower card, i'm standing right next to a lady who is COMPLAINING about how hard her pregnancy has been. I seriously wanted to just look at her and tell her that what would be worse for her... would be to not be able to be pregnant AT ALL. ahhhhhh.

  • I am so grateful for this thread, funny (and sad and annoying) stories!

Mine is that today while getting my 13th HCG test (starting to feel weird calling it a beta at this point??), the nurse taking the blood tries to cheer me up by saying "You can always adopt!"

Right AFTER telling her I am OOP and totally broke after all we've been through. And such a classic line to say to infertile.  Really?  Oh, thanks I had never thought of that!!

A month or two ago I had another nurse grin wildly at me and tell me "good luck" after an early post-m/c beta.  Ummm... thanks?  Not that kind of beta.

I love my RE's office, but sometimes the things that come out just make me wonder.  Does anyone train or prep them on what NOT to say??
