Success after IF

WWYD?

Yesterday I was told I have a low lying placenta and to be on pelvic rest and take it easy (no housecleaning, exercise, lifting etc)for 5 wks.

However, at the end of the month my BFF is coming to visit with her 15 month old. She has very flexible travel arrangements so she can cancel/change her flights without fees etc. We were planning on doing one kid activity per day. Aquarium, Children's Museum etc. My DH will be home 2 of the days so perhaps we do our most active on those days so he can help?

I am wondering if its going to be too much and I should reschedule with her now.  However on the other hand she is a very good friend and will help me with things (lifting DD etc).

WWYD?

Re: WWYD?

  • hmm...its a tough call.  my first inclination was to say "go for it!" but then I remembered that even vacuuming or going to the store made me bleed with my previa...so I avoided being on my feet a lot, even though I was only on pelvic rest.

Maybe you could still have her come, but just play the kinds of activities by ear?  your kids can play together at home, or at a park where you can do minimal movement if needed, and you can still have girl time!  And if you are feeling fine and haven't had any more bleeding, you could do the activities one or both days.

  • My pelvic rest/bed rest was because of a SCH, so I don't know how things change as you progress with a low lying placenta, but I'd reschedule until after your 5 weeks.

I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929

  • You've had bleeding right? I'd stay off my feet. Right now I have marginal previa with baby b's placenta and have not experienced any bleeding so my only restriction is no sex. And being huge from being 23 week with twins. But if I'd had bleeding I'd stay off my feet

  • I would see what your OB thinks. And maybe if she came you could do more low key things. The kids could play at your house, maybe a kid friendly playground where the kids can play and you can sit, a movie if you think your DD could sit through one, things like that.

Otherwise I would try and see if she can come once the 5 weeks are up.
