7 weeks and feel HUGE

I am probably 25 lbs overweight to start- and now I feel just awful. I usually wear pretty tailored clothes (I find them more slimming) but I just cant hack  it anymore... I feel HUGE. Im busting out of everything. I'm only 7 weeks so Im not sure I should be in maternity clothes- thinking maybe I need to wear some chico's stuff or something- flowy and less structured.

Anyone else in this boat? I know I shouldnt be so vain, but Im terrified of being one of those HUGE pregnant ladies.

Re: 7 weeks and feel HUGE

  • My pants are starting to get a bit tight and uncomfortable and I am only 8 weeks. I was told i had another good 4 weeks until clothes wouldn't feel right.  Earlier in the year I put away some clothes that were too big in anticipation of this problem. Do you have any old clothes you have saved?  My favorite dress pants are my elastic waist ones I would go with that and/or buy a couple items a size or two up you'll need them after you deliver and are trying to shed the baby weight anyway. Good Luck!

  • I know how you feel.  I've been unbelievably bloated for two weeks and I'm not quite 7 weeks yet.  I can't imagine how I'll feel 4 or 5 months down the road.  It's especially frustrating because I lost 20 pounds just before getting pregnant so I'm almost filling out the clothes that were a few sizes too big just a few weeks ago.  For now I'm trying to find baggier clothes that don't look unflattering.  It will be nice to be far enough along that I'll look pregnant and not just bloated.  Bring on the stretchy pants!

  • I am in the bloat :) . I have actually lost a pound and all but two of my pants will not button. It is so annoying and uncomfortable, but I have found that thinking that the baby needs the extra room helps me mentally.

  • I started wearing maternity clothes at 6 weeks. Already at that point my pants were getting tight so I figured why be uncomfortable? I am slowing buying maternity clothes, and also wearing comfy pants like yoga pants.

  • That is me exactly! Blubber city, not a cute bump.

I can fit most pants but sitting is just uncomfortable, so I picked up a beband at target last week so I could leave the button on my pants undone but still be covered up.  It just looks like I'm wearing an undershirt which is great because I haven't told anyone at work I'm expecting yet.

I bought a Beband as well from Target. When I go to work in the mornings my pants feel okay...a little snug but not necessarily uncomfortable. By the end of the day I feel huge and pants feel uncomfortable. I am 11 weeks today with my second child. I put the Beband on earlier tonight and it was amazing how much more comfortable my pants fit. I will be going shopping this weekend to get two more so I have one in all colors!

I feel like I'm doing something wrong with the BeBand.  It's amazing at first and looks perfect, but as I go through the day it rides up and spins around and is generally obnoxious.  I got the smaller size based on the chart on the back of the package, but maybe I need to size up?  I want to love it, but it's mainly driving me crazy!

  • OH I am so glad to know I am not alone.  I am 7weeks 1-2 days.......I broke out the maternity clothes the beginning of the week.  I couldn't take it.  I was really complaining yesterday because all I could think is "I'm going to end up with a 30 pounder!"  LOL!  I have a definate bump........hardly squishy!  Last night DH and I  went to a store and picked me up another pair of Maternity pants, so I at least have 3 pair now!

  • I totally feel you!  Before I went to the doc, I weighed myself and was shocked to see that I'd actually lost 7 lbs... although with the bloat and all, I feel like I've gained 10 (and my pants would agree with that lol).

I haven't bought maternity pants yet.  I'm wearing yoga pants at work today!!

  • I know how you feel! I gave in and packed off of my "cute" clothes away! I just got upset when a shirt was all of a sudden shorter and I couldn't button my pants. I am going shopping this weekend but for now I am just washing work pants everynight :). I feel HUGE and GROSS!!!. I don't remember feeling like this 8 years ago when I was preg with my son. Infact I wasn't sick, tired, or constipated either! Can't wait until I am past the 12 week mark so I will start feeling better :)
