I know it's frowned upon, but I deleted the post about my sd. From the moment I posted it, I felt I put too much info about our situation out there.
for the poster who asked about a video taped statement, there is one. We have no idea why it is not sufficient. Having to watch that tape yesterday was one of the things that sent her into a downward spiral.
I know you ladies give it straight, and that posting here doesn't mean having your hand held and being told what you want to hear--and I am okay with that. As far as the meds...benadryl=diphenhydramine...sominex=diphenhydramine. Same drug, approved for different uses, just depends on what otc box you pick up. No legal action or calls to lawyers necessary. As a pharmacist, I spend half my day deciphering the otc aisle for cash strapped patients. I spent 200k on my degree, I did not feel the need to go buy another box of a medication I already had just to make bm feel better, but in retrospect, maybe I should have.
thanks for the kind thoughts toward sd for the upcoming week, much appreciated.
Re: Sorry--Dd'd
The fact that you're a pharmacist and have a professional background here does make a little bit of a difference. That changes my response.
Yes, I would be upset. I would call my child's pediatrician and ask for his/her opinion. If the pediatrician said not to worry, then I wouldn't worry. I would probably ask to stay informed of how frequently she was getting dosed, but that's it.
But if the parent/stepparent had no relevant professional/educational background, I would go back to my previous position.
